Bloodcoat

Morning on the bloodcoat's hollow.

Morning on the bloodcoat's hollow.

Despite its sinister sounding name, the bloodcoat is a timid, tree-dwelling insectivore, sometimes called the "little viccan". The shiny, dense crimson coat is dazzingly beautiful in sunlight, and sags like a loose-fitting overcoat. With its arms and legs outstretched, the bloodcoat flies from tree to tree with a flapping motions.
Its hands are very dexterous with five naturally sticky fingertips, useful for grasping beetles and climbing trees.
